JAKARTA— Bermedia sosial memberikan peluang bagi generasi muda untuk merefleksikan nilai-nilai Revolusi Mental melalui berbagai platform media sosial. Anggota Komisi I DPR RI, Lodewijk F Paulus, mengatakan peningkatan Revolusi Mental dapat mengubah cara pandang, cara pikir, sikap, perilaku, dan cara kerja bangsa Indonesia yang mengacu pada nilai-nilai integritas, etos kerja, dan gotong royong berdasarkan Pancasila yang berorientasi pada kemajuan, agar Indonesia menjadi negara yang maju, modern, makmur, sejahtera, dan bermartabat. “Saya berharap semuanya bisa menjadi promotor positif dalam bermedia sosial tentunya di lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sekitar sehingga mereka bisa menjadi lebih baik semuanya,“ kata dia saat menyampaikan materi di Webinar Aptika Kementerian Kominfo, awal pekan lalu, dalam keterangannya, Rabu 10/8/2022. Lodewijk, menjelaskan pengguna media sosial Indonesia dianggap lebih emansipatif dan egaliter, karena dapat langsung menyuarakan pandangan individu ke ranah publik. Namun demikian, media sosial perlu digunakan dengan bijak agar tidak menjadi pedang bermata dua. Sisi positif itu antara lain penyebaran informasi, pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan, dan lain-lain secara cepat. Sementara sisi negatifnya seperti pornografi, perjudian, penipuan, pelanggaran data pribadi, gim dengan kekerasan. “Itu sebenarnya gim tapi seperti menyontohkan untuk melakukan kekerasan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari bahkan ada yang sampai perjudian, kita harus lebih bijak lagi dalam bermedia sosial,” tutur dia. Lodewijk juga menyebutkan menyampaikan bahwa generasi muda harus bijak dalam bermedia sosial. Pengguna haruslah menggali manfaat positi dari media sosial. Dampak positif media sosial itu, ungkap Lodewijk, di antaranya dapat menghimpun keluarga dan kerabat yang tersebar, sebagai media penyebaran informasi, memperluas jaringan pertemanan, sebagai situs jejaring sosial membuat kita menjadi lebih bersahabat, perhatian dan empati, sebagai sarana untuk mengembangkan keterampilan dan sosial dan ada juga sebagai media promosi dalam bisnis. Secara khusus Lodewijk menyampaikan prinsip atau etika dalam bermedia sosial umumnya. Banyak dari pengguna sekadar membaca sekilas informasi atau konten yang diunggah. Dia memberikan kiat menghadapi informasi di media sosial dengan mengajukan pertanyaan yaitu pertama, is it true? Cari tahu terlebih dulu kebenarannya jangan hanya membaca saja informasinya.
